COMDIAL FAQ

Q: Are line appearances available on this system?  
A: Yes

Q: Is a T! available?  
A:  T-1 is in field trial, but will require a different CPU and cabinet to support. That is the DX-80 Plus, not yet released.

Q: Maximun Number of Stations?
A: It can go to 48 stations

Q: You need to buy another box for Voicemail, then you can only have 4 - 8 max users accessing voicemail functions
A: It is a card, not a “box”, but yes, only 4 or 8 max users simultaneous

Q: How Many Voicemail Boxes are there? 
A: 100 on the small system 2000 on the larger

Q: How much space for Voice Mail?
A: 3.2 hours on the flash module, 150 hours on the Hard disk

Q: The remote config modem, can you use a current analog line or do you need a separate line?   (We suggest and AB switch)
A: The DX-80 assigns an “extension number” to the modem, so that from the Auto Attendant you dial the number, or a user transfers it to the extension.          

Q:It says you can program via the phone or some other program.  What is that program and how do you connect to the server?
A: There is a PCBDA program on a laptop is used for remote. We can provide it to you  

Q:  I don't see any call waiting feature, but I do see a Call Queue feature.  How are they different? 
A: Call waiting from the CO can be answered using the flash key on the phone.

Q: How does Call Queuing work?
A: The DX-80 has UCD, and Call Queuing basically camps the call onto a group of extensions, waiting for one to become free.   

Q: How is administration handled.  Is it solely by modem?  Remote administration possible other than by modem?
A: Either by phone, or PCBDA program.

Q:  Is there a way to add in VoIP capabilities?
A: Note as a standard component. You can use a gateway that converts to a FXS port and plug that into a CO position. The existing CPU was never be designed to support it. I have heard the DX-80 Plus CPU has a gateway card option, but we have not seen it.
